  BUSHEY, Harold L. (1927 - 2016) Dr. Harold L. Bushey, 88, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, January 23, 2016 at his home. He was a son of the late Clinton Jay and Lillian Skow Bushey born on October 15, 1927 born in Olivet, IL. Dr. Bushey was a physician and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barbourville. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Garden Club, Daniel Boone Festival Committee and was a Kentucky delegate to the American Medical Association for several years and enjoyed traveling. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. On August 24, 1949, he united in marriage with Eulene Bell and to this union three children were born. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eulene Bushey; a brother, Richard Bushey and a sister, Emily Moore. Survivors include his children, Susan Messer and husband, Tony, of Knoxville, TN, Bill Bushey and wife, Patti, of Cincinnati, OH and Kathy Carter and husband, David, of Lexington; a sister, Aleida Deal and husband, Ed, of Indiana; 12 grandchildren, Isaac Messer and wife, Emily, Matthew Messer and wife, Riyam, Rebecca Tinker and husband, Adam, Sarah Crocker and husband Benjamin, Joshua Carter and wife, Lauren, Liz Bushey, Jacob Messer, Jessica Carter, Hannah Bushey, Andrew Carter, Kayla Carter and Gabriel Messer; three great grandchildren, Hannah Messer, Colton Carter and Felicity Tinker; among other loved and dear friends. A memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, January 30 at 6 P.M. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday after 4 P.M. until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy may go to the KY United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 749, Versailles, KY 40383 in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
