  Obituary	Alfred F. Aldrich was born at Victor, Cayaga Co., New York May 14, 1832 and died at his home four miles north of Leslie village April 3, 1912. He was one of 8 children born to Edward and Alfreda Aldrich. He came with his parents to Henrietta, Mich., in the spring of 1847 and was married to Melinda Kimble Nov. 26, 1854. To this union 7 children were born, two of whom are living, Mrs. Lillian Hodge of Webberville and Carl of Boyne City, who came to live with and care for him during his illness. He was one of the first volunteers of the civil war and served in Co. H. in the first regiment of Michigan Engineers and Mechanics till the close of the war. He then bought and settled on a farm in Bunker Hill where he lived till he lost his wife by death Jan. 28, 1875. Four years later he married his brother's widow, and in the fall of 1896 he bought and moved to the home where he died. His last wife preceded him in death 13 months ago. Mr. Aldrich has been a true christian since childhood and many years ago united with the United Brethren church of Bunker Hill and was a faithful member till his demise. He was exceedingly charitable and generous. No one ever called upon him for help and did not receive it. He was very lame and had to walk on crutches for 8 or 9 years and has suffered great pain for several months. March 1 he had a stroke of paralysis which resulted in his death. He leaves two children and their families, four sisters and two brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. The funeral was held Saturday April 9 at the Bunker Hill U. B. chruch, Rev. R. B. Cilley officiating. Interment in Fitchburg cemetery.
