  A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, 1997, in Northminster Presbyterian Church for Ada Pearl Benson, who died May 5 at age 95. Mrs. Benson was born March 3, 1902 in Callender, Iowa. Her maiden name was Cluff. Her husband, Grover C., died in 1964. She moved to the Portland area in 1965. She was a homemaker and member of the church. Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne Sampson of Washougal, Wash., Lois Hooker and Jeri, both of Portland, and Lee Halff of Dallas, Texas; son, Robert F. of Aloha; brothers, Ernest Cluff of Quartzsite, Ariz., and Stanley Cluff of Swisshome; sisters, Evelyn Olson of St. Maries, Idaho, and Dorothy Richmond of Wyanet, Ill.,; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. The family suggests remembrances to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Zeller Chapel of the Roses.
