Mrs. Abbie A. Aldrich, daughter of William A. and Margaret (Leece) Ford, was born April 10, 1864, at the Ford farm in Henrietta Township and departed this life on March 9th, 1940, at her home in Leslie, age 75 years and 11 months. Jan. 13, 1883 she was united in marriage to Adin Aldrich of Henrietta Township, and to this union was born three children, two sons, William of Mason and Frank of Leslie, and one daughter, Mrs. Madge Young of Mason.
Since childhood, Mrs. Aldrich has been a faithful Christian, serving her Lord and Master wherever he called. Through the years her friendly kindly nature, her willingness to be of service,and her many acts of kindness had made her a host of friends. She was a friend to the friendless, and always a comfort and a help to those in trouble.
She leaves to mourn their loss, the husband, her sons, and daughter, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Stowell of Lowell, a brother, Rolland T. Ford of Grand Rapids, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held at Leslie Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Myers of the Free Methodist Church, of which she was a member, conducting the services, with burial in the Fitchburg Cemetery. | Ford, Abigail Agnes (I5742)

Mrs. Anna A. McCreery was born in the town of Victor, Cayuga Co., N.Y. March 24, 1836 and died at the home in Bunker Hill Septemeber 18, 1924, aged 88 years, 6 months and 21 days. She came to Michigan with her parents in 1844. On November 12, 1854 she was united in marriage to Lawrence H. McCreery who preceded her to the Better Land 11 years ago. To this union were born four children of whom survive Fred at the old home, Mrs. George Wainwright of Jackson and Arthur, also of Jackson. Her youngest daughter, Mrs. May Ford, passed away January 27, 1924. Fifteen grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters also remain to mourn their loss.
She was a loyal Christian, a faithful member of the UB church of Bunker Hill. Her kindly manner, helpful spirit and Christian character endeared her to all who knew her and she will be missed in the house and in the community.
Funeral services were held at the first UB church in Bunker Hill September 20 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. J. K. Batdorf officiating and assisted by Rev. Lester Scott. Six grandsons acted as pall bearers. Burial in the Fitchburg cemetery beside her husband. | Aldrich, Annice Ann (I3061)

Mrs. Gertrude Quale
Mrs. Gertrude Quale, of this village, departed this life at the very ripe, old age of more than 100 years.
She was born in Throndjem, Norway, August 27, 1815. Deceased married in the old country in 1842. Her husband's name was John Quale, who died 12 years ago. They came to this country in 1873 and were residents of the vicinity of Moland. The later years deceased made her home in Kenyon.
Surviving her are three sons and a daughter: Martin Quale, Kenyon; Ole Quale, Birch Hills, Canada; Sever Quale, Moland; Mrs. Hans Brekke, Harlem, Montana.
The last rites for the deceased will be held at thier late home at 10 o'clock Monday morning, followed by services in Moland Norwegian Lutheran Church. Interment will take place at Moland. | Flatås, Gjertrud "Gertrude" Sivertsdatter (I6524)

Mrs. Jesse Speed of Second Street, Deposit, died yesterday afteroon at Binghamton City Hospital after a long illness. She is survived by three sons, William, of Deposit, Howard, of South New Berlin, and Rex Speed of Sidney; two daughters, Mrs. Elva Storrer and Mrs. Helen Conrow, both of Deposit, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Ole Malvig
The above name was born at Strinden, Throndhjem, Norway the 16th day of January 1840. In 1867 she married to Ole Malvig, who lives after her.
In 1893 they came to America and have since lived in this neighborhood. For some time they resided in Steele county, 13 miles south of Kenyon, and in later years at Ecklund, where Mrs. Malvig died the 19th of January at the age of 76 years.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, six children, twenty-five grandchildren and other relatives.

Obituary
John Hilmer Erickson was born in Superior on May 16, 1901, and passed away July 12, 1987 at the age of 86. He had been in poor health for the past five years.
His parents moved to the Bigfork area when John was about 3 years old. He attended school in Spruce Park, MN. He was united in marriage to Georgia Backstrom in 1922. During this time he farmed 3 miles north of Bibfork on a 40 acre tract, and drove school bus, did some logging and worked as a truck driver for the county. His first wife passed away in March of 1939.
He then moved to Bigfork with his 3 children and went to work as a custodian at the Bigfork High School and continued to do some logging.
He met and married May Bishop in 1944. At this time, he worked in the mines, and entered chopping and sawing contests. His claim to fame so to speak, the one thing he enjoyed and loved to do was chopping and sawing wood in competition. He won many championships in Minnesota and other states as well. Finally capturing the World Chamionship Title in both sawing and chopping. His son, Arthur, joined him in 1948 and they won the two man sawing contest and many other events after that.
John earned honorable mention in Cedric Adams Columm in the Minneapolis Tribune when he cut thru a 20" log in 8.3 seconds and beat a chain saw. He served as Bigfork constable for several years and was sexton to Bigfork Cemetery untill he retired at the age of 81.
John was a devoted family man and a father who was tower of strength to them.
His direct honesty and sence of fairness made him respected man in this community and wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; four daughters, Lynnette Soltau of Lake Crystal, Mn, Shirley Sigler of Bigfork, Sherry Kim of St. Paul and Brenda Lehinger of Grand Rapids. Two sons, Arthur of Omaha, Neb. and Kenneth of St. Paul. Two step-sons, Howard Bishop of Concord, Calif., and Darrell Bishop of Lake Zurich, Ill; a step-daughter, Muriel Comeau of Reno, Nev.; a sister Esther Gustafson of Bigfork, 41 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Thursday until the funeral at 2 p.m. in Bigfork Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Bigfork Cemetery. Arrangments are by the Libbey Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. | Erickson, John Hilmer "Johnnie" (I6958)

Obituary:
John Roger Jensen, Dies June 18. He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Bigfork where he grew up and attended schools, graduating in 1955. He began employment in road construction in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. He owned and operated his own semi long-haul truck. Most recently, he was employed laying fiber optic cable for Johnson Construction of Omaha. He returned to Bigfork in 1998 for eventual retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene; three sons, Donald, Crane, Mo., David, Springfield, Mo., and Daryl, Nixa, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Lana Holmstedt, Omaha, Neb., and Karen Ramos, Dallas, Ore.; two sisters, Marion Benson, Grand Rapids, and Karen Dohse, Shorewood; a brother, Donald, Bigfork; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents Leonard and Mia Jensen.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Bigfork Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Sebentsfeldt officiating.
Arrangements by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.

Remembering the life of Rosalyn Marie Hagen…
The Memorial Service for Rosalyn "Rosie" Marie Hagen, of New Richland, will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 11 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Richland. Pastor Gerry Giese will officiate.
Friends may visit with family from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.Rosie died at her home on Thursday, May 6. She was 29. She was born on May 21, 1980, in Waseca, Minnesota the daughter of Johnny Hagen and Lesley (Benson) Hagen.
She attended Janesville schools where she played volleyball, and later attended New Richland High School. She married Curtis Besser on May 3, 2003. They were later divorced. She enjoyed fishing, but mostly she loved being a mom.
She will be missed by her children: Star, Tarynn and Dakota, her dad Johhny Hagen of rural New Richland, her mom Lesley and her husband Don Kump of Easton, brothers: Tim Hagen and his wife Jessica and their son Zachary of New Richland, Kyle Kump and Dan Kump both of Easton, two step-sisters: Tammy and her husband Ross Melhopp of Mankato and Deb and her husband Todd of Eagle Lake, grandfathers Leslie Hagen of Missouri and Earl Benson of Faribault, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
